Buildings: Tavern

This building allows you to perform spying missions and countermeasures.

Purpose

In the Tavern you can hire spies to do some dirty work for you. Spies will help by gathering knowledge about your enemies, be it troop numbers or building levels. You should be careful though, your enemy can activate countermeasures to provide you with false information.

Each countermeasure can help you in different ways. You can learn more about what each technology (countermeasure) does, by reading through the section below.

If you have chosen the 'Guild of Thieves' order from the Hall of Order, you are able to sabotage your enemy's villages. In order to do that, you need at least 3 spies to send.

Please note that spies sent on a sabotage mission will always die regardless of the sabotage outcome (successful/unsuccessful).

If you have upgraded the tavern to level 14 or researched the technology homeguard with crowns, you mobilize your citizens to protect your village against sabotages. Sabotage attacks will fail more often compared to a village without this research.

For counter measures to work, you need at least one spy in your village. Countermeasures only have a slight chance of being activated when spied.

Requirements

The Tavern becomes available when your Headquarters has reached level 8.

 If your tribe uses the Tribe Skill "Internal Agent" you will be protected better against enemy spies.

Tavern Research

Level Requirement Name Description
3 Camouflage This research unlocks the camouflage countermeasure. With camouflage you can deceive enemy spies who have infiltrated your village and mislead them to report a false building level of one of your structures back home.
6 Switch Weapons This research unlocks the switch weapon countermeasure. This countermeasure deceives your opponents by switching the troop numbers of two random military units with each other, thus  making your enemies come to wrong conclusions about the real strength and composition of your army.
9 Dummies This research unlocks the dummies countermeasure. With dummies you can bluff other players by feinting empty army slots to be occupied by Spearmen.
12 Exchange This research unlocks the exchange countermeasure. Exchange forces a spy who failed to scout your village to instead submit a report of his or her own village to you.
14 Homeguard This research unlocks the homeguard. This will protect your village against sabotage attacks greatly.

When unlocking a technology in the tavern with crowns you will also unlock the spy for the corresponding building level.

The maximum level of the Tavern is 15.
